Artist History
DALIA It's not often that a young singer can claim a background of world tours and media savvy, but then not many singers are Dalia. Singer/songwriter/artist with undeniable beauty, Dalia has been performing since she was five years old. A unique performer, she has dancing and acting experience to go along with a musical background. This is why she has become a favorite among those who enjoy music today. As someone who has toured the world sharing the stage with world class performers, she knows the business as few performers do, and she brings to music a fresh, authentic sound she can take from the US to international markets already familiar with her work. At four she was taking dance lessons and at five she had performed her first show for the Army Vets at the base. "I spent part of my childhood in Madrid, Spain listening to the music my parents had brought over from the states, and also listening to the music around me." The time she spent there also left her fluent in Spanish and she soon caught the performing bug. Soon she began writing and starring in her own musicals and at twelve sang her first bilingual solo, winning a singing contest. A natural beauty, Dalia began modeling and participating in beauty pageants in college. She wrote her first adaptation in Spanish for the song "Don't Cry For Me Argentina" and sang it in the Miss South Carolina competition where she was crowned Miss South Carolina! Soon after she began touring with Julio Iglesias and performing in eight of his videos, including one in which she sang a duet with Julio called "All Of You". After gaining experience with Julio, she left the group and took a role in the movie "Lycanthrope" starring Bob Carradine. Following the movie, she talked with Marco Bissi, the president of Universal Mexico, and signed with him. She became serious about her songwriting and wrote with songwriters such as Rafa Ferro, who has written hits for Julio Iglesias and Gloria Estefan, and Guy Roche, who has produced and written for Celine Dion and Christina Aguilara. She has currently released two singles and one album. Dalia's performing style has fire and energy as she brings passion to her performances on stage. Currently, she holds the number one spot for six of the eight categories (the only ones she qualifies for) for Latin music on MP3.com. In one category, she holds the numbers one, two and three spots! Being bilingual has helped evolve her own style as she shares a part of herself with every listener. She is most certainly one of musicís most talented and attractive young performers today. |
