Artist History
CVTIs roots began in Manchester in 1984 when Jonny Fabulous and Chauncey Nosebleed, of The Nosebleeds fame, met at a Smiths show. They quickly formed a band with friend Britney Orlando on drums and a red Gummi on bass. They were called Martian Death Corps and enjoyed moderate success in provincial Hungary. They parted ways in 1989. Johnny and Chauncey were reunited in 1996 after both had moved to rural Ohio to escape their celebrity and began tossing around ideas for new experimental electronic material. The first real output came in early 1999 with the breakthrough original mix of 'Oh God!', the band's most successful single to date. 'Oh God!' has the distinction of being the most sampled song in history, which is ironic as the track itself is made almost entirely of sampled material. Tragedy soon followed when, in late 1999, Chauncey Nosebleed was murdered by an irate ex-lover. Nosebleed was promptly replaced by Johnny Fabulous' longtime friend, spiritual advisor, fellow musician, and singer extraordinaire friend Andy Famous. Fabulous and Famous teamed up with drummer Orlando and managers Georges LeMonde and Sexxy Ramon, both also of Nosebleeds fame, and picked up where Johnny Fabulous and Chauncey Nosebleed left off. |
