Artist description
I am an independent composer who works primarily in the realm of Christian sacred music. I write mostly for pipe organ as well as choral and brass ensembles. I am an ordained pastor of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) and I have worked as a musician and/or minister with congregations in California, Pennsylvania and Michigan. |
|
Music Style
I create neo-romantic sounds with a strong structural connection with 17th and 18th century musical forms. This is particularly the case with my organ works. |
|
Musical Influences
I find inspiration in the work of Paul Hindemith, Herbert Howells and Jean Langlais as well as much 17th and 18th century keyboard music, especially organ and harpsichord. |
|
Artist History
I have worked as a church organist/choir director for many years. Various church positions have served as a workshop of sorts for musical composition. I accept commissions for organ and choral music. Please contact me for details. |
|
Group Members
I work most often with brass ensembles, choirs and various groups interested in early music. |
