Artist History Wasabi’s Bio:How Many Smart Asses Does It Take To Screw In A Band?Imagining that perhaps Wasabi does possess certain natural physical properties here on earth, let us compare the movement of the members of the band during actual daily living and the undeniably highly comparable movement of water. The four humans who comprise Wasabi each live in separate structures in Portland, Oregon, each at his(her) own special point above sea level. Being an objective onlooker, I notice an invisible force gathering these people together, so that occasionally, as if caught in an undertow, Larry-Merri-Jason-and Troy are swept down below the surface to the underbelly of a house where they play songs. Where do these songs come from? Who are these people? Ask and I will tell you: there is no answer. Ask the band and they will lie to you and trick you into loving them and convince you to believe that what they say is true. But you must not drink from the cup of deceit. The truth is : Wasabi started at different times in the minds of each of its members. Wasabi changes each time anyone even thinks about it. Listen to Wasabi , and you will know Wasabi because Wasabi is Jason playing bass in his basement, with Larry and a guitar, Merri and a keyboard, and Troy with a percussive assortment known to America as drums. Listen to the sounds that they decide to make. Listen to the sounds that they can’t help but make, carried to this place as they were by a strong force similar to a typhoon. Listen to me bringing back the fluid theme. Now sometimes, as in the case of a splash, the band is brought up and out. Because of the momentum created in the whirlpool of practice, performance is imminent, and Wasabi emerges onstage. This is Wasabi and Wasabi is alive and you can eat Wasabi and hear a song inside your memory – No one has the ability to detect that it exists there.
