Artist description
'ORBISONGS' is a compilation album composed of songs written and/or performed by some of songwriting's most talented 'unknowns', who represent all different musical stylings and genres. The one common link between us is the fact that we're all members of the same Internet email list, 'orbison' (hence the name 'ORBISONGS'). There are approximately 30 active members of orbison, some of whom have songs on this album, some of whom don't. We're extremely excited about bringing together some of the very best 'yet to be discovered' talent around. However, the best part about orbison is not the music, but the people behind it. You will not find 30 more helpful and honest people anywhere. Though sometimes we disagree, we have all developed great respect for each other, and true friendships from our time on orbison. |

Music Style
"An eclectic blend of musical stylings" as one member puts it, is saying the least. Almost each of our 30 members comes from a very unique musical and social background, and hence, have developed their own definitive sound and style. Our songs cross the lines of Country, Pop, Rock, Alternative, Jazz, Western Swing, and virtually every other genre. |

Artist History
Created in 1997, the orbison mailing list was originally intended as a discussion group for songwriters who wrote in the specific style of Roy Orbison, and Hank Williams, among others. However, over the past three years, orbison has grown to include and become a meeting place for all genre's of writers and performers, and is one of, if not the, most respected songwriting groups on the Internet. |
