Artist description
Neal Schon leads you down a path of Guitar Virtuosity that touches your spirit as few players can. Neal has the uncanny ability to raise your music consciousness with a mixture of raw intensity tempered with melodic bridges that weave a complete spell. The results are uplifting and mood invoking. His guitar is tuned to the moment and the Street. This is the same Neal Schon that joined Santana in the early seventies, a career path he opted for after being asked by Eric Clapton to join his band. Neal is best known as the lead guitarist for the group Journey, Bad English, Hardline and Abraxas Pool. Piranha Blues, Neal's latest album was the first solo album available on MP3.com. Piranha Blues is a 12 song collection. It features Neal on guitar, Ross Valory (also a founding member of Journey) on Bass, Prairie Prince (from the Tubes and early Journey) on Drums and Richard Martin Ross on Vocals. The premise for creating Piranha Blues was simple. Assemble a team of players who just wanted to plug in and rip! No formula, no heavy polish, no B.S. Getting the rhythm section together was a no brainer. Prairie, Ross and Neal go way back to the very beginning stages of Journey. When they started jamming, it just felt right, even adventurous. They were grinning ear to ear during the production of this album. All of the songs were recorded, for the most part, the day they were written. They wanted a raw performance and didn't want to sweat the imperfections. Advice from Neal- Crank It Up Loud.``````Beyond The Thunder and Electric World were released in the mid and late nineties by Higher Octave Records, where Neal has a record deal. These two albums are a departure from Neal's blues, rock and pop background and move into a more complex melodic textured world where Neal uses the guitar to deliver his songs with emotional accuracy. |
