Artist description
Nat King Kong is emerging musician living inside me. As a kid I got some classical music training that I neglected later on for years. However I always liked music and I was always inspired by it. This spark, made me always stay in touch with music. My teenage days I spent playing in bands, on and off, but I studied too which didn't leave me enough time to play. In summer 1994. I moved to Canada and started a brand new life. As soon as I could afford I started building a small MIDI studio. I needed to play music again. Music skill, just like love needs to be nurtured constantly to stay fresh, interesting and alive and that's what I wanted to do again. Shake my rusty fingers. I was always good with computers and synths but my hands have rusted over the years. I also took one of David Lucas' ear trainings that helped a great deal. I always listened to music deeper than an average listener but this course sharpened my ear even more. I still have quite a way to go but I made a first step. When I'm not Nat King Kong I work as a computer artist and animator making computer games. : ) Sounds cool? It is, but it's still a job and I guess that's why Nat King Kong lives. He needs some freedom, he needs to be child again and he needs to make and live the Art. Music is his way. I don't follow any particular music style and my music probably sounds like a merge of all the music that got coded in my ears and mind over the years. |

Artist History
This NKK being existed all my life I guess. I just didn't give it a name when I was younger although I always felt its presence. Given some time amount of music I make will grow. I hope the quality will grow too as I learn my way around. If I can only find a room where I can play loud. I'm sick of the headphones. Ocassionaly I terrorise my neighbours and play my stuff loud, nobody complained so far. Does that mean they like it or they're deaf I wonder? : ) We'll see what the time brings. |
