Artist History
A diverse saxophonist, Mike Hutchinson’s musical background stretches from jazz freelance work to classical and Klezmer playing. He has performed in ensembles conducted by George Russell, Chico O'Farrill, Arturo O'Farrill, Carl Atkins, and Allan Chase. Last winter, Mr. Hutchinson was seen and heard in "A Taste of Chanukah: A Musical Celebration", which was broadcast nationally by PBS and PRI. Last December, he participated in a concert featuring Chico O'Farrill, which was named in the the Boston Globe's Top Ten Jazz Concerts of 1999. In addition, Mr. Hutchinson's classical background has lead to performances in Meyerhoff Hall in Baltimore, Carnegie Hall in Pittsburgh, and Boston’s Jordan Hall. |
