Artist description
For Mark Pellizzer, performing and recording music is a never-ending frontier. It is the struggle of creating and innovating that drives the nineteen-year-old Toronto resident to view music as a conquest. Stylistically, Mark’s music is in a league of its own, integrating modern alternative, cool jazz, and electronica. The music is such that transcends time and extends its marketability to virtually every age group. At this year’s Woodstock, Mark performed for thousands of eager listeners. His music, stage presence, and stylistic approach was a smashing success. Mark understands the necessity of delivering an engaging performance. His live shows range from intimate thoughtfulness to high-energy bursts; unsuspecting audiences are captivated. Mark gains experience by playing with a variety of different artists from contrasting genres. He has been the opening act for such artists as: The Rascalz, Pluto, Maestro, and Moe Koffman. Mark’s stylistic diversity is key to his success at fascinating many listeners. At heart, Mark is a jazz enthusiast; he appreciates the ‘miles his davis has traveled.’ This Bright Day, Mark’s debut solo CD, features many of his heavily-entrenched jazz companions. The album takes many twists and turns, but seems to reside on semi-sarcastic jazz burps and giggles, interesting progressions, and catchy, weird noises. The lyrics are also quite similar in this respect, exploring uncharted territory.Mark Pellizzer is not going to rest until everyone has listened to his CD and attended a performance. Indomitable spirit, mixed with undeniable talent, is making this Canadian into a success. |
