Artist History
In the beginning of 1996 after somemonths of rest Estonian death-thrashmetal group Decease started rehearsingagain. After some rehearsals the groupwas without singer and bass-player due todifferent understandings about the musicto make. So, the band remained 3-pieces -Marek Kivi (Guitar), Mart Karu (Guitar),Risto Mõtus (Drums). The group worked onwith new ideas and in the end of July theyrecorded 4-track demo tape as the result ofthat. Soon joined the group fretless bassplayer Arian Levin and the group's musicgot much richer. The main interest wasturned on composing new songs and alsorehearsing them. The music style changed to more melodical, experimental and technical and nowadaysit has become into jazz and heavy metalinfluenced progressive metal. Because ofthe fact that the brutal death vocals didn'tmatch the music they decided to usefemale voice and Triin Pata took over vocalduties. Soon the group realised that thenew style they were making is not themusic that Decease had made and thechanges in the line-up and in theconception of the group were dramaticallychanged. It gave the reason to changetheir name to Echosilence. In 26th of December the debut concert ofEchosilence took place in Rakvere(Estonia). There was a recording session inAugust 1997 and new instrumental 9-trackdemo tape "…and sorrow" has beenrecorded. After the session the singer TriinPata decided to leave the band andEchosilence remained instrumental. Due tothe poor sound quality the demo hasn'tbeen sent to record labels but still got verygood responses all over the world. After the year full of lives and rehearsalsthe group Echosilence decided to recordtheir first professional 4-track demo tape in"Matrix" studios in Estonia. This demo wascalled "Eclectic Collaborations".Right now the band is rehearsing new material and is looking for a record deal. |
