Artist History
Color Phobos is the latest vehicle for songwriting partners Ken Downie and Joel Jackson, who emerged from the Detroit/Ann Arbor scene in the mid-90s. In 1995, Jackson left for Boston to earn a degree from Berklee School of Music and recorded an album with the band "Michigan." Downie and Jackson reunited in 1998 near Boulder, Colorado, and decided to tour the West in a vintage travel trailer containing a digital recording studio. The Color Phobos project was born. Writing and recording as they traveled, Color Phobos eventually landed near Portland, Oregon, and released a CD of the material they recorded on the road. Color Phobos is currently residing near Portland, recording new material and booking live engagements throughout the Northwest. |
