Artist description
The Janitors rock and they roll with a vengeance. It would be nearly impossible to pinpoint any certain sound coming from their punchy guitar riffs and sing-along anthems. Not too unsimilar to New Wavers like The B-52's, Devo, the big, dynamic fuzz guitars of The Cars, and the twisted, expiremental side of early 70's proto punk Talking Heads.Donned in their reds, whites, and blues, they command the stage with off-kilter bursts of energy, humor, and a bizarre performance. Matt fronts the band with his frantic vocals, all over the map, from narrative-sung choruses, to loud, quirky verses. Abe and Kyle bring on an onslaught of guitars, fuzz, and noise, while Josh expirements with his bass-heavy funk sounds. To give it a boot, Andy pulls it all together with an insistent, rhythmic pulse. |

Artist History
Originally from Sweet Home, Oregon, the group first met when brothers Matt and Abe Burns bumped into Josh Fair and Andy, all of them then janitors in profession. Without much musical background, they put together a few practices and soon found themselves playing shows around the Pacific Northwest. Later, they rounded off the group with Kyle Nicholson on rhythm guitar. |
