Artist History
The story starts out as common as a rose tattoo.
Cause we all have dreams.
Pillared by the schematic plans and applications of the young and college-bound, we belonged to the over-populated school of aspiring rock stars.
So we formed a band.
We were freshmen in high school.
Predictably, we soon parted ways.
The reunion wouldn't happen for many years.
The process was cautiously slow and avoided all of the pitfalls of a nostalgic one-night-stand.
In June of 1999, Skywind as you know it today, performed for the first time.
Everyone asks, “What do you guys sound like?”
We don't know.
If you force us to answer, you'll get five different responses.
On the surface we have very few common threads, but at heart we are loyal like family.
It's that constant shift and huddle, like brothers re-united over a perpetual Thanksgiving dinner, that builds these songs we play.
We'll spare you the clich adjectives used in witless promotional advertisements and shameless marketing biographies to butter up your eyes to our sound.
You're intelligent enough to form your own honest opinion.
In retrospect, it's been a private ride through Disney World.
Many experiences that we thought previously to be reserved only for the elite have graced our days with fine memories.
Ours lives change with our pants.
We can only be too grateful that we carry around an intimate history together with many pages written, many to be written.
Family is strength.
The inside jokes are thick.
So what if we act like there's not much more to life than rock and roll?
The name implies imagery and doesn't ask for an explanation.
We don't think it's that far from Minneapolis to L.A., or New York, and we don't mind the drive.
On stage, we act like we own it.
So Forget about yesterday and don't worry about tomorrow.
What are you doing right now?
