Artist description
Pat was born in Montreal, Quebec in November of 1969, but moved to rural Eastern Ontario in 1973. Upon completing a B.A. in Environmental Studies and Comparative Development, he answered the call to write songs and make music.
Solo acoustic performances in a roots blues style are currently the focus of Pat's musical career. Regular appearances in the Kingston, Brockville, and Ottawa Valley areas have helped create a modest, but growing, audience. While almost 20 per cent of his repertoire is original material, the remainder of his work serves as a reference point for his musical influences.
Experience with many local musical projects - which have featured all manner of styles, including country, classic Rock, alternative, Chicago blues, guitar ensembles, and big band—has given Pat a dynamic approach to creating and performing. All of these projects have seen fit to include his original material in their repertoire. For example, classic rock blues outfit The Groove Daddys chose to record Pat's song "5x7" for the Brockville Musicians' Association Palliative Care charity CD Musicians For The Millennium.
As a music instructor in Brockville, Pat has been fortunate to establish a dedicated and growing local practice. His tutoring skills are also utilized by The National Guitar Workshop, a summer school with campuses throughout Canada, the United States, and Europe dedicated to the development of musicians from the ages of 9 to 90.
