Artist History Born in Los Angeles in 1998, My Sister Amazing combines the talents of five musicians from diverse but confluent musical backgrounds. With an organic yet eclectic approach to their songs, some have likened their layered, interwoven guitars to Radiohead, their vocals to The Sundays and their soaring melodies to Jeff Buckley. With a distinctive combination of emotional and physical sonance, My Sister Amazing creates music that is intriguing and engaging on multiple levels. Originally from Washington D.C., Jeny Nicholson, (vocals, wurli, acoustic) Chris Hopson (guitars, vocals), Christopher Parker (guitars, vocals), Jimmy Harrison (bass) and Jaime O'Connell (drums) spent several years in various bands playing the east coast circuit. In spite of their strong connection to DC, each of them felt a change of venue would provide more opportunities for musical growth. After a casual jam session in Los Angeles, the four friends from DC found themselves excited by the prospect of writing new music together. The group quickly began booking shows. After recording their first CD Like Low Tide, MSA won an LA Music Award (Best Independent Single) for the song “Even.” They were later featured on VH1’s “Rock Across America” as one of LA’s best unsigned bands.
