Artist description
Murphy’s Law certainly defeats the well known laws after which they have chosen a name. The thought that anything that can go wrong will is put to rest the moment this talented act steps onto the stage, "this group is a true crowd pleaser.Murphy’s Law descends from the small, artistic town of Happy Valley-Goose Bay, Labrador. The band, consisting of six members, is the source of a new and unique Irish branch of music that has created quite a stir in their home province. The group was formed in 1994 specifically to perform at a benefit for the Canadian Diabetes Associations annual Irish Pub Night. Since that time the group has grown and continued performing at various pubs, festivals and fundraisers. They originally started out performing traditional Irish and Bluegrass music and over the last year has been performing songs portraying Labradors’ history. All of the original material performed by the group is writtenby four of its members. The members of Murphy’s Law all hail from the various corners on Newfoundland and Labrador and bring their heritage into their music. Individually they are superb musicians, collectively, they’ve given new meaning to traditional Irish music. Each man’s talent extends beyond one instrument or voice to give the full Irish sound that reaches its audience with warmth and humor. Murphy’s Law and their expanding audience are eagerly awaiting the release of the group’s first album in October of 1999 . "Never The Same Way Twice" will feature the groups original music as well as a few Irish classics. Other plans for the future are conducting a 10 day tour with Labrador on the Edge, a show portraying various artistic northern talents. The summer will bring the group to various festivals in Atlantic Canada with an invitation to travel to Ireland in the fall. |
