Artist description
The county of Wiltshire in England is steeped in mystery and power. This is home to the Britishgrunge band Ambergreen, who have been quietly thundering along for the last three years, occasionally popping up to play gigs in Oxford and Bristol, then returning to their dark cavern towait for the next attack.Ambergreen, whose name is a play on the word ambergris (or whale vomit) is composed of thetwo Stoner brothers (yes, that's their real name) Dan and Greg on bass and drums and Andi onguitar and vocals. With influences that range from Korn to Hedpe and Silverchair to Pink Floyd, you can bet that these guys know how to rock.Their amps hum with energy, bursting to go, they step on the pedals and all hell breaks loose.Greg throws down a breakbeat that quickly turns into smashing cymbals and is joined seamlesslyby dreadlocked Dan, holding down the bottom with a bass that pounds on your heart. Andi jumpsin with crunchy alarm-bell guitar and all heads are banging up and down. And so goes the first half-a-minute.This is hardcore grunge that will shake the rafters, but with enough softer passages that you canwatch the dust settle before being blasted again. This is the wail of English youth. This is what your doctor ordered. This is what your parents hate. This is what you need. This is Ambergreen. |
