Artist description
"a peace in progress" is a melopoetic journey which seeks to re-pair the long divided arts of poetry and music: born of the Ancient Greek dramatic ideal that conceived poetry and music to be indivisible. The work is a reconsideration and reinvention of their traditionally shared: melologue to melodrama, ode to opera. It is, at heart a merging of two myths: the age-old story of Two Brothers and the legendary figure of Orpheus: what results is the renewed quest by the poet musician for the peacemaker. |
