Artist History
It all started when a couple of young musicians who love 70's and 80's american rock wanted to jam together on a few Journey tunes. Those jams later evolved into big concert productions under the Journey theme. What was originally a project had now evolved into a real band with an expertise on Melodic Rock and AOR styles with grand, majestic sound and massive vocals. The hunger grew and soon they started to write original material in the style they know best, melodic rock. After playing some live dates around their hometown Helsinki, Finland they recorded "One Day (I'll Make You Mine)", which was released as a promotion single in June 2000. The single spread fast around Europe and resulted in reviews that praised the bands songwriting and musicianship. "One Day" was also featured on the compilation cd of British FIREWORKS magazine with artists such as Bobby Kimball, Kharma, Crown Of Thorns and Ten. The single also paved the way for negotiations with several record labels that approached the group. Finally in September 2000 Urban Tale signed a production deal with Roastinghouse Productions (www.roastinghouse.com) from Malmö, Sweden. The band's debut album was recorded during the late autumn 2000 at the Roastinghouse Studios. The target of the production was to bring the sound of Melodic Rock into the 21st century. The result is a majestic combination of traditional and modern styles displayed on this fantastic debut album which is coming out in both Asia (Marquee/Avalon, July 25) and Europe (Frontiers - www.frontiers.it). |
