Artist History
Steve Goetz and Eric Johnson played together in several Madison Wisconsin based bands in the early-mid 1990s, including Blue Ruin, Brave Sun, and the Red Planets. After the recording of the Red Planets first album, "Against the Giant," the two began recording tracks for a new project. Eric Johnson, who usually played guitar in previous groups, played the drums for this new project that became more of a creative experiment than a rock record. With Eric on the drums and Steve on bass, the two recorded nearly four hours of improvised material. Taking the two-track master of these recordings Goetz and Johnson decided to edit and add overdubs separatley; in effect making two different recording projects out of one rhythm section. "Transmissions from Satellites Volume One" is Eric Johnson version of the project. |
