Artist description
Four piece band. Musical style that can only be described as Pain Metal. Traditional metal sound with brutal Death Metal vocals. No keyboards or other synthetic shit clouds up our pure metal sound. Don't expect anything but pure skull crushing metal. We take a shit on all posers who try to listen to our brutal and demonic compositions. Live, we possess our audience, and have been known to have bone breaking injuries in our mosh pits. |

Group Members
Lord Nekros-Festering Gore Vomit and Hell Born Death Rattle-Lord Nekros' voice is one of the better voices in Death Metal. His style ranges super low growels, clear yells, and wicked screeches. He doesn't sing like a pussy like some bands (*caugh*caugh* korn! *caugh*). Mike Olson-Death on 666 Strings-Mike writes some of the heaviest and most origional riffs in metal. His detuned guitar along with those riffs pulverize his audience. Mike 'Kaiser' Wilhelm-Quake Enducing War Drums of Aramgeddon-Even though he's in the back, Mike makes his thundering presence known. With his drum skins loosened and tuned low, his drumming is booming and makes the band sound that much more dark. Martin Schellhaus-Earth Shattering Hell Thunder-Martin throws rumlbling bass flash into a show whenever he can. With a bass you can feel in your balls, Martin helps make some of the heaviest shit you'll ever hear. |

Press Reviews
'The Synthesis' recently ran this as an intro to their review of the band: "Heavy Fucking Metal. When I was assigned to interview Solstice of Suffering for First Contact, I wasn't sure just what I was getting into. After listening to 'Grindfucker,' the band's latest self produced EP, I was worried that the band might take one look at me, kick my ass, and leave me in a bloody heap. Seriously, 'heavy' doesn't quite describe the ear-penetrating, soul-disrupting cacophony of this band's sound. Death metal growls, crazy rhythmic changes, bludgeoning bass riffs and monstrous power chords combine to create make-out music for arsonists." Powerslave.com wrote in a concert review: "The sixth band to hit the stage was the straight death metal act Solstice of Suffering as they jumped into their blasted set of oftentimes blinding speed and all out guttural warfare. Featuring guitarist Mike Olson and the pure death growl of vocalist Lord Nekros, Solstice of Suffering does not make any bones about the style of metal they embrace, and pump that sound as loud as possible. This is the deathiest of death metal without any shadow of a doubt as between Olson's machine gun riffing... and Nekros' heavy vocals, Solstice of Suffering does plenty of things well... Solstice of Suffering is a band that helps to define what death metal embodies." |
