Artist description Melancholic wave-pop ist the best description. Slender Flame tend to sound melancholic even on the faster songs - but you can still dance to them! The voice is very important and has become a trademark of the band due to its unique and charismatic sound. Another focus is on the melodies - how could there be music without melody? In some of the newer songs guitars are used to achieve more variation in the sound. Of course they are treated accordingly, so they fit into the synthetic ambience of the songs.

Artist History The band was founded by Harald and Markus in 1992 (yes, it's that long ago) as the result of a long night, full of discussion on the attributes of a perfect pop-song. Both have been friends since primary school and grew up playing music to each other so the taste could develop very much the same. This makes it a lot easier to agree on the details of new songs. Over the years several releases have seen the dark of the world. Naturally it started with tapes (1994: show up), then cds (1995: fallen angel, 1996: demo). At this time the name was changed from 'basement industries' to 'slender flame'. In the last few years there have been reviews in many print and online magazines (you can read them all on the artist's website) and the band has performed several concerts. After the promo-cd 'injection' the ep 'seven songs' has been published in 1999. The latest release is the single 'great on tv' of which the b-side (almost a double a-side!) 'walking alone' is available on mp3.com. Watch out for the forthcoming album that will be recorded and mixed in a danish studio in April 2001.
