Artist description Solo artist. Acoustic and electric guitars. Harmonica. But for certain concerts are added a bass, drums and keyboard. His recorded music is quite different from his live gigs, as there are harmonies and a choir, and some songs have powerful amplified and distorted guitar riffs. Good guitar work and meaningful lyrics. Music that’s great to listen to, and the more you listen to it, the more it grows on you. The more you get to know the lyrics, the more you’ll like them and see how close to life they are. A lot of maturity and know how in constructing a song. In fact I think it’s some of the best alternative, non-mainstream music around. It could be called quite unique.

Music Style Folk rock, Blues rock. Good rhythms and soulful melodies. Electric guitar riffs and always a lead guitar floating right through the song. An introspective, unusual voice, deep, a little rough at the edges, but also warm.

Musical Influences Bruce Springsteen, JJ Cale, the early Dire Straits. I've seen the film 'Woodstock' maybe a hundred times. Never get tired of it. Only regret : I was too young to take part in it.

Similar Artists It's hard to define. His style is very particular. his voice not really mainstream. It's poetry put to music. A haunting voice, good melodies, sometimes heavy guitar riffs. He sounds like himself.

Artist History Nikki M has been doing one man concerts for the last ten years around Europe and North America. He’s played at the Montreal Jazz festival in front of a huge crowd. Also includes sometimes short recitals of his poems as he is a published poet with two books entitled 'The Kingfisher and `Rock Poems` 1999. His live gigs are quite different from his recorded material, as he mainly does solo gigs with his harmonica, acoustic or his vintage hollow bodied blues guitar. He plays rhythm and lead at the same time and relies a lot on audience participation. Somehow the songs become more magical when performed live. While playing basement blues in Paris, France, he was also earning extra money as a photographer. Doing very well, but left it for the love of music. Now he spends half the year in Goa, India, where he's doing a lot of gigs, and the other half traveling and performing in North America.
