Artist History
Micky Farkas grew up with music all around him. His grandmother Baba would sing him Rumanian lullabies, while his father cavorted around with an accordion, loudly belting out Hungarian folk songs. One day, he serendipidously landed a gig playing guitar and singing for a five-year-old's birthday party, and he knew right away that he had found his calling. In 1994, Micky Farkas began providing weekly music and movement education for several pre-schools and kindergardens in the Montreal area. Soon after, Micky began using his songwriting talents to craft tunes and stories that would inspire his kids to dance, shout, and even learn. At the same time, he was eager to connect with kids on their level, to speak to the many trials and triumphs that mark this formative period in their lives. His songs are the culmination of his prodigous experience teaching and motivating children, who he says are still his toughest, most uncompromising audience. |
