Dave Armstrong ~ The Storyteller
I've been holding off writing a review of Dave's music. It's hard to put into words how I feel about his songs. Great is the first word that comes to mind.
Dave is a story teller in the true sense of the word. A true Bard, sharing his insights with anyone who passes within earshot. If you get close enough to hear, you will have to stop and listen, and you will not be able to walk away until the last note fades away. Even then, you will walk away a little different.
I have been listening to Dave's music for probably close to two years now, and I have never tired of a single note. And, I always have to stop what I am doing and listen to what he is telling me.
Wonder-filled songs about contemporary life, sad, happy, and your emotions will sync in with those of the songs, and you will see.
Telling you stories is not really what's going on, he is showing you stories. I consider Dave one of the masters of our time, peered only with the likes of Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Joni Mitchell and Bill Miller.
Dave is what folk music is all about; commentary, stories, etc.. If I myself were a producer of standing, Dave would be my first stop. What he is doing is important, and music should be important.
Each song is like a wonderful novel that draws you in, connects you with the story and makes you a part of it all. I consider Dave a friend though I have never met him. But he has shared something
wonderful with me, and that is what friends do.
No matter what genres of music you are into, you will love Dave's music, I guarantee that. If you do not take the time right this minute to go to his site and listen, download and/or buy his fantastic CDs (Santa Fe and Wide Open America), then you have truly missed one of those moments in life that you should never miss.
If I were rating on a scale of 1 to 10, Dave is for sure 10+. Go there now!!!
And as always: SUPPORT INDIE MUSIC!!! Indies do what they do for you!
Thanks for checkin’ in!
