    Artist description
Bitter End could not play out without some violent conflict taking place. Their set was broken up due to violence on at least one video compilation (Seattle Slam also features some brilliant footage of legendary Seattle punk group, The Derelicts) And at a performance in Tijuana a San Diego youth dove from the third tier and spilled the contents of his skull onto the concrete floor. There is no explanation, other than Bitter End's music just plain riles people up.
    Music Style
    Aggressive speed metal

    Sabbath, Motorhead, Slayer, Zappa, DiMeola

    Artist History
You may own a copy of Bitter End’s “Harsh Realities”(Metal Blade 1990). You may have seen Bitter End on tour with DRI or Sacred Reich (depending on your location). You may have even seen Bitter End playing Seattle’s Bumbershoot or Pain In The Grass festivals. If you are a devout metal-head, you may have even seen their video on MTV’s now-forgotten Headbangers Ball. If you dig Bitter End you have probably wondered what became of them. Well, Matt’s still very politically active in Seattle and has run several successful campaigns. He also continues musically as lead guitarist in Seattle based rock band, Dinsdale. Chris is teaching college in Memphis and playing bass in a group called ALSO. They recently finished production of “The Dogbark Sessions”, a collection of pretty reflective material. They should be available on mp3.com soon. Russ is currently raising his 5 year old son, Ozzy. If you're familiar with The Family (Russ' side and subsequent project) Their stuff can be found on mp3.com under the name Fortysack (The Family was taken by a rap act from Fla.). He is also working with shock-country group, Hartwood. Hartwood can also be found on mp3.com.Their songs are politically incorrect and quite funny (18 wheels a’rollin’ 3 sheets to the wind…). Harry is also raising a boy, Jesse (Jesse James Dearinger). He runs his own business and drums primarily for pleasure these days. Well, as you can see, the boys are doing alright and here’s some good news. The vaults have been opened. Previously unreleased material produced by the legendary Jack Endino is now available. Several songs were recorded in winter ’91. Others were recorded in fall ’92. “Tiny Minds” is from the first sessions. More will follow.
