Artist description 3 Chord Poker: a tongue-in-cheek reference to the ingredients of post 50's African Pop, 3-chord-schemes (I-IV-V) in varying sequences. By breaking these chords up between a driving, drum-like bass, a bubbling rhythm guitar and a piercing lead, incredible rhythmic and harmonic possibilities emerged. Three-CARD-poker is an illegal street game: three cards are shuffled at blinding speed. You place your bet on the "hidden ace" to double your money. Most of the time you lose! 3 Chord poker is the game of deceptive simplicity. A one-man-band, I play guitar, some percussion, keyboards and flute. I use MIDI and the computer, but believe that gadgets should never be used in "auto-pilot mode", and try to preserve the organic sound, aesthetic mistakes and all.

Artist History Born in Kenya, taught myself the guitar in high school. Later, as fate would have it, I landed in the perfect place in the US, where the masters of the acoustic guitar and open tunings (James Taylor, David Wilcox, Leo Kottke, etc..) added to my influences. Today, I live in the Netherlands, a little land amazingly varied in artistic possibilities. Being rather stage-shy, I perform sporadically, but continue to invent and improve on my music.
