Artist History
Formed in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Knol grew up in Dinkytown listening to such bands as the Who, Small Faces and any other music that his mod mother was into at the time. He went on to form many punk bands, but none combined musical forms in the way he would eventually do with the Hidden Chord. Tate's musical influences fall anywhere from the Beatles and the Who to Elvis Costello and Fugazi. Through the local scene, he met up with 20-year-old Brian Severns, who also plays with the Misfires; 24-year-old Dan Buettner, formerly of Broken Hearts are Blue; and 20-year-old Jeff Brown from Grotto who Matt Hart later replaced on drums. |
