Artist History
We are five guys who have played our music for seven years now. We had our upīs and downs, but now itīs great to be a part of the family called Sideburners. We have evolved to a more mature heavy seventies kind of metal that we play now.Influences are there, like they should be, but we like to think that we have find our own sound now, and progress still continues. We have played here and there, and people who have seen us said it was great and heavy, and liked to see us on a label soon.We are ready now to spread our music to people to enjoy. |

Press Reviews
Posted at StonerRock.com and written by Peter Hogfeldt Sideburners - Mind Explosion Demo CD-RYet another highquality demo from a Swedish band... this was a real good one, but donīt expect Sideburners to create something youīve never heard before...Thereīs a couple of songs with that slow but heavy vibe... with Sabbathian riffs and all, and thereīs also some songs that come of as a cross between Nebula and Hellacopters...but what really gets this demo cooking is that slight psychedelic touch... even the heaviest of the tunes got some of that presence... more or less."Fungus" actually reminds me a little of Thatīs All Folks! at first, but thereīs also a bit of that "eveeeel" Roachpowder touch. "Gotta Motor" sounds like one of Nebulaīs faster songs, but with a strong Hellacopters vibe..."Highway" is a short and fast song (1.39) with an explosive down and dirty rock 'nī roll vibe... must be a good one live... "Deadheads" and "Mind Explosion" also have that raw rawk 'nī roll touch... good stuff...Heavy 70īs rock comes to mind when listening to "Never Fear"... thereīs a little bit of Sabbath in it, but thereīs also something about it that make me think of later day bands... "Silverplated" sounds like a cross between AC/DC and Motorhead, but as played by Nebula..."Wheels" is one of the best songs on this demo... laidback grinding groove... an extremely fuzzed out bassline and a bunch of simple but heavy riffs... thereīs even a slightly Dozer sounding part in the middle of the song... Last one out is "Messed Up Pussy" (!?!)... this one also have something that reminds me of Nebula, but it also have something of a punkrock vibe...All in all, this was a real good one... with lotsa cool tunes... Thereīs another Swedish band called Sideburn... donīt mix 'em up, 'cause theyīre quite far apart in their approach...Tracklist:1. Fungus2. Gotta Motor3. Highway4. Deadheads5. Mind Explosion6. Never Fear7. Silverplated8. Wheels9. Messed Up PussyURL: http://sideburners.homestead.com Swedish five-piece play metal with a snarling, mid-range sound rooted in the '70s. Eschewing pristine riffing for unbridled energy, the Sideburners are fast, raw and aggressive. Listen.com |
