Artist description
Sharla began singing and dancing at the age of three. By the age of ten, she was appearing on a country music variety show at a popular resort called Fun Valley, located at the base of Wolf Creek Pass in Colorado. Sharla was a member of a nationally award winning clogging team for I I years where she competed in such places as, Silver Dollar City (Branson, MO), Dollywood (Pigeon Forge, TN), and Opryland USA (Nashville, TN) just to name a few. She has also appeared (singing and dancing) with the Blackwood Family in Branson, MO on numereous occasions. Closer to home, Sharla has been a member of the Big Texan Opry for seven years where she sings, clogs, and emcees shows. She has held the title, "Sweetheart of the Opry". The summer of 1999 brought many accomplishments for Sharla. She wrote a phenomenal country music show called Rockin' Country Nights, which takes the audience on a musical journey down the legendary Route 66. Sharla starred alongside a cast of 16 of her close friends and colleagues. The show was performed every Thursday and Friday night at the Big Texan's new Cowboy Palace this past summer and is scheduled to run again next summer! Sharla also released her first album, Stay Real, recorded under her very own label, ShOck Records. She toured from Reno, NV to Topeka, KS singing at major truck shows and truck stops. As a result of her tour, Sharla has been featured in several major trucking magazines such as, ROAD KING, ROAD STAR and RPM. Sharla plans to graduate from College this May 2001. |
