Artist History
Eventide was founded in the early summer of '98 by Jacob
Magnusson and Niclas Linde. The idea was to combine
the heaviness of melodic death metal with the complex
structures, clean vocals and varied rythms of progressive
metal and create a unique sound. The original lineup
consisted of Jacob Magnusson (lead guitars, vocals),
Niclas Linde (lead and rythm guitars), Max Seppälä
(drums), Åke Wallebom (bass).
This was the lineup that entered 'Los Angered Recording'
in november '99 to record the first demo-cd,
'Caress the abstract'. The respons from zines and labels
was great but we were not quite satisfied ourselves with the
result since we realized that there was a lack of originality and progression on the demo.
In July '00 we found that our new songs were alot different from the 'caress the abstract'-material,
and that we had grown as musicians. So we decided to record yet another demo.
We recorded the music on a 8-channel portable studio. Both the mixing of the demo and the
recording of the vocals took place in 'Los Angered recording'. We decided to call it 'PROMO 2000'
because it will only be used for promotional purpose and will not be available for purchase.
