Artist description The AvantGarageUSA Holiday Song Festival ran from 1981 to 1986 and produced 25 mostly tweaked and twisted songs by a number of outsider and marginal (and proud of it) artists, many of whom were enrolled in the recording arts program at Long Beach City College in California.

Artist History The AvantGarageUSA festival was begun by TK Major in 1981. The first winner was "Stuck Between Xmas and a Hard Place" by Joe Schaffer. It was the only entry that year. But in the following five years, 24 instant holiday classics followed.
