Press Reviews The high-lonesome caress of an e-bow across an eight-string Warr guitar is used to create the six brooding instrumentals that comprise guitarist William Bajzek's second album. Bajzek has played experimental music for many years, both solo and in two bands, A Fine Day (with his brother Peter), and ÷; the minor chord washes of November showcase his skill for painting ambient textures of effects-laden sound. "Snow" unfurls like the quiet section of a horror movie soundtrack, as the unwitting victims walk through the dark house, throwing nervous glances down the long, shadowy hall behind them. The organ tone on the eight-minute opus "Cathedral" is at once realistic and piercing, building a Gothic edifice of malevolent beauty. Patience, and an overcast, rainy day, would likely highlight the charms of Bajzek's droning excursions; only one of the tracks here completes its deserted, night-time journey in under five minutes, and half of the pieces pass the seven minute mark. Unlike Pink Floyd, who employed similar lengthy passages of tonal drift, Bajzek never allows himself, or us, the release of one clear, chiming chord.
