Artist History The Rum Runners were the quintissential "local band". They were a fixture on The Jersey Shore music scene from 1985 to 1995. Whenever a "Major Act" would come to the Jersey Shore to play at The Stone Pony, The Fastlane or The Count Basie Theater inevitably The Rum Runners would be the support act. They appeared with; The Radiators, The Spin Doctors, The Band, Widespread Panic & Blind Melon among countless others. The Rum Runners were the Jersey Shores favorite Grateful Dead style band at the apex of the Dead's popularity (& the days before Phish). They even recorded an unreleased album with The producers of Phish's album "Rift". The Rum Runners stopped performing as a group in 1995. Rum Runners alumni include; the lead guitarist of Splintered Sunlight (Philly's favorite Dead band), several members of Solar Circus, the Bass player of Juggling Suns & the Drummer from Blue Highways.
