Artist History
The Revenants were formed in 1997 by two ex-junkies who had plenty of time on their hands. Charles Levy (alleged member of the Mill Avenue Mafia) approached one of these unfortunates about an acoustic performance at a rather seedy dive known as Nita's Hideaway. Being an astute business man Mr. Levy had visions of at least an extra $20.00 in beer sales trading on the aforementioned's much tarnished name. Although reluctant at first, a carton of KOOL 100's sealed the deal. We are sure Mr. Levy lost money on that deal.
The two ex-junkies found they enjoyed playing music together and were especially fond of maudlin, self-pity induced, Honky-Tonk music of the '50s and '60s. An added bonus to playing this type of music was the sure-fire guarantee that no financial success, popularity or sexual exploits would result.
Our two friends enlisted the aid of drummer Bobby Domings and bassist Paul Schneider (who could quite possibly be the only human being who doesn't suffer from any type of neurosis). The results, for good or for bad, are evident in these tunes.
