Artist description
Utopia has been described as the Aussie Rock band of the nineties and their original compositions are exemplary of this description. When Utopia performs live, you get raunch and sweat and a mountain of heart that incites that infectious participation you want in an audience. The music is mainstream Aussie Rock and has proven itself time and again at the many venues that have attracted a Utopia performance, with real guitars, dynamic percussion and meaningful lyrics conveyed through powerful vocals.
The Australian music scene has not had a new band in this vein for several years and these guys are determined to perform and convey their message to the masses. The members are all experienced performers with a history that has fully contributed to their current professionalism, the bigger the crowd the better they like it, but regardless of the venue they always perform with heart.
Utopia has recently put six of their original compositions down on CD and are planning to record an album early in 1999.
They also have a large number of crowd pleasing covers available and perform them on request.

Artist History
The Following is an excerpt from a review of the band as written by an Australian Record Company Representative: (Utopia is currently unsigned)
"Utopia are an original aussie rock band. With strong riffs, driving rhythm and powerful vocals, Utopia is a much needed kick in the pants for the Australian music scene. Growing up with the influence of cold chisel, ac/dc and the angels, Utopia are a welcome return to the roots of rock, bringing back hard hitting, in your face music and lyrics that speak to the aussies disillusioned by drum machines and sequencers. With songs such as you can't hide that rebelliously pokes its tongue at political correctness, infectious guitar riffs and strong lyrics, the music should be timely as patrons call out for real music and real musicians.
