Artist History Initially, Joel was shape-shifting in Seattle for lack of better things to do and to immersing himself in the world of "RETAIL BOOKSELLING". Meanwhile Rich, a Viennese transplant, was masquerading as a guitar instructor before reluctantly gathering his Manner Wafers and moving to Santa Fe, New Mexico to work with former Dream Theater keyboardist Kevin Moore. All the while, Rich and Joel were joining forces, writing and recording via airmail. After a short stint together in Seattle, (a city whose local paper provided the inspiration for the bands name) they again relocated, setting their sights on New York City, this time as mellow26. The music they worked so hard to create draws from many styles. There are elements of Trip-Hop, pop and new-wave within, all of which are blended into a finely woven musical texture. mellow26 is an exercise in DIY. Every sound and image to which you navigate has been filtered through the mellow26 collective consciousness.
