Artist History
Rapid were formerly known as League of Decency before legal action from a similarly named band forced a name change. Rapid has three members comprising of bass player Keith Mc Bain, drummer John Gowen and singer/guitarist Fran. Rapid were recently voted Most Promising New Act by the European Music Journalists Association (EMJA)at their annual meeting in Paris, France. Previous winners include the Cardigans and Ash. The Chairman of EMJA said our presence on MP3.COM was a contributing factor in thier decision. It means that Europeans can have direct access to our music over the Internet and can discover why EMJA chose our band. Rapid have featured on several Best of compilations on the Danceline and Futuresque labels in Europe. The band has featured extensively on European radio with “Ultralove” and "Pleasantly Psychotic". All three band members live and work in the British Isles. Rapid was formed while in college about eight years ago. We'd like you to become part of our little movement. E-Mail us using the link below and tell us what you like and dislike. Thanks for dropping by and good luck to you. Please spread the word about Rapid and help to make us better known. Remember music can be therapy. |
