Artist History
Kevin Armstrong started out as an embryo, like everyone else. But nine years later, he made a choice that would set him apart: he picked up a guitar. Then, he began to sing the songs in his meloncholy heart... Kevin became skilled at his instrument, developing a pick/finger style which allows the rhythmic drive of his songs come through. Add to the mix a classicaly-trained voice, a slightly strange sence of humor, and you’ve got an ecclectic blend of “Kevinmusic”. He started playing at every bar, coffeehouse and resaurant that would have him in his hometown of Nelson, B.C. Over a two-year period, Kevin developed a strong repertoire of original tunes, while also playing as a sideman for numerous other performers. Then came... “Untitled I” (1994), Kevin’s first album. That took him from playing background music, to a successful cross country tour, appearances on regional and CBC radio, regular performances across B.C, and now, Montreal. With his second release, "Second Album" (1998), Kevin made the leap to internet music, scoring over 20 000 downloads of his music in the last two years.
Now, with the release of "Sound Castles" on the kevztunz label, Kevin will be touring and singing his butt off in order to convince you that he's got the music that will make your ears smile. Watch for him on his upcoming Summer '02 tour that will take him from the right side of Canada to the left with his band. |
