Artist History
Freshly Baked was originally formed in early 1993. The band spent two years as the local house-band for Orville&Wilbur's(Manhattan Beach, CA) playing cover tunes 2 nights a week. Soon the Baked was writing their own music. After two demos and the 1996 full-length CD entitled "Soulfood", Freshly Baked began to gain radio play in the Los Angeles area. They have been featured on KPFK(The Music Never Stopped), and KSCA(Local Spotlight), KCRW, and KXLU. In 1995, during the infancy of the World Wide Web, The Freshly Baked Cooked Book(www.freshlybaked.com) was established and soon the band would gain hundreds of thousands of fans world-wide. In 1997, Freshly Baked released their second album, "Twice Baked" and began to attract regional attention by playing at large outdoor music festivals. |

Press Reviews
Preaching aside, there's a number of bands that'll blow your socks off this time around. The first is a wonderfully exotic Californian outfit named Freshly Baked. The band has a diverse musical background (inspirations range from classical music to Kiss and from blues and jazz to psychedelia). The incredibly catchy ditty about dope, "Bongwater", would be hailed as a classic if it were by a big-name band. In this Baker's dozen of songs, there's no one musical direction that dominates although the tough, psychedelic tones of "Bigger Better Faster More," the rollicking rock of "Wonderland" and the oddball funk/reggae of "Trustifaria" show how unique these guys are.
