Artist History
Decidedly individualistic! With dynamic vocals and poignant imagery, Flutter carefully places messages of individualism & not accepting the norm within clever pop songs and engaging visuals. With a rush of energy, Christine Ingaldson's voice shocks and delights listeners drawing them into the world she creates to cast a different light on the one we live in. "Candy-coated Politics" is how 100% Unnatural webzine describes Flutter, "It all seems like one silly, frivolous, disposable good time...so long as you don't pay any attention to the lyrics."
Flutter is a true collaboration between Christine Ingaldson & Paul Determan, combining her past experience in dark pop, techno, shoe-gazer and indie rock bands & his extensive underground dance music background into a unique yet accessible sound—"a collision between pop and punk that channels all the spunk, if not the actual sound, of the original New Wave," says 100% Unnatural. With bassist Shaun Barrett and drummer Jay Ramirez completing the live version of Flutter, the new songs have been getting a strong and positive response from crowds in the rock scene as well as the club scene. Flutter's buzz has been steadily building with airplay on Loyola University's radio station WLUW 88.7 as well as continuous play of the music video, "Come with Me." This video has received repeated play on JBTV and has been requested and supported by patrons of the club Berlin. Flutter's new album "Toys in Coin Machines" contains a multi-media section which includes the music video "Come with Me" as well as an access code to the "Secret Room" on the band's website.
Trisha Star of Trisha Star Productions is the stylist and artistic director for the more extensive Flutter shows. She was the hair designer for Toni Halliday as featured in DJ? Acucrack's music video "So to Speak." In addition to creating the costuming, hair, and environment, Trisha hires male dancers to complete the exciting Flutter stage production.
Flutter's first incarnation, a solo-produced & written blend of ethereal, experimental and darkwave-based music resulted in one album, "Molting," which was independently released by Christine Ingaldson in spring of 2001. The single "My Nocturne," generated substantial college radio airplay within the genre and "Dreaming in the Dark" received a feature in UR Chicago (Oct. 8-Nov. 4, 2000 issue) for its club play in both Chicago and Denver. Flutter appeared on the 2002 Invisible Records compilation "Notes from thee Real Underground 2." Flutter has played many gigs in Chicago, Denver, Milwaukee, Iowa City and Indianapolis since 2000 and is gaining success locally by playing at venues such as The Metro for a women's arts festival, Estrojam 2003.
Most importantly Flutter hopes it can encourage fans to have fun while expressing their own uniqueness. That doesn't mean you have to look weird to be different. Its just a matter of being true to yourself. Have FUN!!! :) |

Press Reviews
"Flutter is phenomenal, and I don't say that casually. The mix was excellent (I could understand every word!), Paul's synth driving and rich, Shaun's bass mutated and subtle, and cherry on top Christine, a stunning power pixie whose voice compares with Hagen, Bush, Kier and Lauper."

"Flutter tear into their new sound with intoxicating abandon. Vocalist Christine Ingaldson springwater-clear voice is almost too good (that's "almost" too good) as it crests and falls over the backing beats, which teeter between pristine pop-dance (think No Doubt) and edgy, homebrewed electro."

"She must have a third lung to boldly hit the notes she does." – E-Lab (Denver, CO)
"Whether she is singing harmonies in a beautiful, angelic falsetto or simply speaking her mind, the voice commands your attention...This is a truly rare talent in a singer--the ability to sound like many different people at once." – Poseidon, Gothic Beauty Magazine |
