The blisteringly soulful vocals of Angela Conti tumble and swoop out of the speakers and grab the listener by the throat! With the earthy passion of an Ashley Cleveland or Maria McKee she more than holds her own against the scorching fluid guitar work of Brett Valentine (check out the brilliant "Hold On"). From the gritty opening calling card of "Calling Out" through to the closing anthemic "By The Blood Of The Lamb", Deep Roots keep the heat firmly turned up. Even on the shimmering sax-soaked laid back old fashioned soul of "Open Your Eyes", the music cuts to the heart.
