Artist description
IN THE WALK OF OUR PRESENCE IN THIS EARTH AND TO THE NEXT, THE STORY OF LIFE HAS ALWAYS BEEN TOLD IN A TWO SIDED NATURE. FOR AS YOU CAN SEE, IN GOODNESS, THERE EXISTS EVIL…IN LOVE, THERE EXISTS BETRAYAL…IN ACHIEVEMENT THERE IS FAILURE…THEREFORE, SONGS OF POSITIVE REFLECTIONS SUFFER FROM THE SAME MIRRORED IMAGE. WE INTERPRET WHAT SADNESS BRINGS, WHAT HATRED BEARS, AND WHAT VIOLENCE AND DESTRUCTION CAN CONCIEVE…AND THE CONSEQUENCES THEREAFTER. DARKISDAY, AMONG MANY OTHER BANDS EMULATE THE PARODY OF EXISTENCE THROUGH OUR WORDS, OUR IDEAS AND OUR MUSIC. WE ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THE WALK OF LIFE HAS NOT BEEN AN EASY JOURNEY IN ITSELF.FROM LIGHT TO DARK WE LIVE EACH DAY IGNORING THE SHROUDED REALITY THAT WE ALL KNOW THAT OUR ACTIONS--RIGHT NOW--DOES MATTER…THE QUESTION IS: ARE YOU FROM THE RIGHTEOUS?…OR ARE YOU FROM THE WICKED? |

Artist History
The origin of this life-long commitment started in a 10x11 shed back in September of 1995 when Keith S. (Drums) and Ryan M. (Guitars, Vocals) first collaborated to produce a band now known as DARKISDAY. Through the years, the band’s growth process resulted in several line-up changes, trying to characterize itself, seeking to authentically portray the bands natural moody sound. Best described by the band as "groove metal", the music contains heart-pounding bottom end grooves, with textured symphonies of sadness and aggression, paying homage to bands close to their heart such as Alice in Chains, Pantera, and Black Sabbath. "We were never followers of any trend, or ever ashamed to be heavy, despite the recent uprising of different music styles. We always remained focused in what we had started to do from the very beginning."The group’s record, the self-produced, self-promoted LP, entitled Beyond the Pain… was produced in 1998, with all the recording, engineering, and promotion done by the band members themselves. "We knew nothing about promotion, mixing down or any recording background, but we were determined to make a name for ourselves. It was definitely a struggle and a challenge for us. We had to learn every aspect of those things as we went along."Efforts to promote the CD resulted in special guest appearances in the local area radio stations like 100.7 WZXL (the Rock Station), 93.1 DOX (Alternative Station) and 98.7 (New Rock Station). "I was surprised to see that we had a lot of positive reactions towards our music, which gave us the driving force to work harder for it." The emergence of Josh W. (Guitars) and Joe B. (Bass) in early 1999 kicked-started a redefining of DARKISDAY to a higher sense of musicianship, pursuing and striving to be leaders of the trade, not followers. Four different individuals with different playing styles and influences from Jazz, Metal, Progressive and Hard Rock have come together to bring a new breed of complex aggressive music, to break new ground in the music scene. Currently, DARKISDAY is in full motion, continuously evolving and developing, recording on a planned second CD release, and playing at your local bars and events. "Check us out and see for yourselves…see how the hard work has paid off… |
