Artist History
Formed in downstate Carbondale in 1972, upholstery has been wrestling with the fabric of Aamerican Ffolk Mmusic for almost 30 years. Founding member Andrew Ortolano's primary instrument is a pre-columbian hand drum from a architectural dig somewhere in deepest darkest Missouri in 1965. Neil Jendon joined the band after a no-fault divorce from his first wife Catherine in 1997. Michael Riseman was joined in 1998 after his release from Leavenworth where he served 12 years of a 25 year sentence for stabbing Keith Emerson with a knife stolen from Al Johnson. David McKenzie is expected to join the ensemble when he grows up. |
