Artist description
The Posters are a blend of several different styles of music. Michael W. adds a hip-hop influence due to his role as a DJ in local group Royal Ruckus. He is also influenced by punk rock and emo bands. Brian also listens to a lot of hip-hop and rap but enjoys rock as well. His drumming is influenced by a lot of jazz and pop styles. Michael J. takes his guitar playing style from artists such as Jimi Hendrix, Dave Grohl, and Kenny Wayne Shepherd. His songwriting style is similar to that of Everclear and Dave Matthews. All band members are open to many different styles of music and enjoy listening to and drawing from whatever sounds good! |

Artist History
The Posters started in November of 1998 in Michael Walker's garage on Rancho Sierra St. They rehearsed there for a while until they played their first show at Jerry's Pizza in Bakersfield sometime in February of 1999. The original lineup of the band consisted of Michael Jackson on the guitar and vocals, Matt Hernandez on the bass, and Michael Walker on the drums. However, in March of 2000, The Posters added new drummer Brian Johnson to the lineup and switched Michael W. to playing the bass. Matt left the band in May 2000 leaving the current lineup that they play with today. |
