Artist History
THE ALMIGHTY FATHERS thrust themselves upon the North East scene in late 1995, not unlike the President of the United States on some unsuspecting intern. The band plays a unique blend of old school and post punk, drawing on a variety of influences. Melodic...Husker Du, Pixies and Replacements to the dissonant...Sonic Youth and Jawbox, with an underlying old school punk theme...Pistols, Clash, Kennedys. Early material has been compared to the Dead Kennedys and Fear, later material falls closer to the vein of Fugazi and Jawbox. |

Press Reviews
"There are pieces of mid-tempo punk and garage rock in here, but it's not quite either, plus a couple post-punk tunes. Different, catchier, more melodic, and better vocals than their last tape." - Grub Zine 8/99"The best thing about this tape is that it has a few different faces of punk in it. Starting off a little hardcore and even metal at times, steps into the pop realm, then mostly straight up rockin, and ends with an acoustic one. Overall, there's old school in all through it." - Get Used to it Kid Zine"The A.F.'s are kind of strange, like a metal version of FEAR. Some cool lyrics and choruses!" Theory X Fanzine "This band is from New York and I think they aren't that bad." Lil Punx Records |
