Artist History
Margaret Graham, Michael Ginsburg, and John Clair meet at Bard college in the fall of 1996.Soused is born soon after in the fall of 1997. They perform a few times at bard, usually with their backs facing the audience, in defiance of the audience's expectations, weaving together sounds that coalesce in ways and across frames of time that further spin their audience into their spontaneously creative music space. The trio added drummer Loren Steele in the spring of 1997, and the momentum picked up sending the newly formed soused into the music scene in Greenwich Village. after a few long drivesand poorly-paying gigs, the road tested soused moved into John's dorm room to record their debut self-titled album. Soon after finishing the album the band activity dropped off, but the potential to re-form the group rests patiently with the members all living within 5 minutes of each other... |
