    Artist History
Rusty Doorknobs was born in Trenton, New Jersey on October 30th, 1978 as Rusty Dornobs. His middle name is Angela (after his mother). Rusty took an interest in music and started performing in local bars and other alcohol serving establishments at the age of five under the watchful eye of his stepfather's brother's cousin. It so happened that one day after doing his production of Fiddler an agent from Hollywood who had been attemptiing to drink himself to death noticed his talent. Rusty then entered the Hollywood scene at age 11 and changed his name to Rusty Doorknobs. It as here that Rusty met up with the now historic pairing of The Cools, who would later become his band. In 1989 while passing a a group playing on the street for money Rusty stoped to kick the leader (a large fellow by the name of Jay Hardon) and proceeded to mock him for being a "homeless bafoon who doesn't respect his white superiority". This band was indeed just that and at that time called themselves The Salt Licks. After some rivalry they grew to become friends, as Rusty would kick them every day at the same time so the started expecting it and eventually had some chit chat before and after. Then in 1992 they agreed to put on their first performance as Rusty Doorknobs & The Cools at the St. Louis Center for the Arts. The band got signed on with Bluecock Records where they have been ever since and have gone on to release the chart-topper Hippo from their debut CD and have just finished recording its follow up, which is expected to outlive Hippo's 11 month run on the top 20..
