Artist History
Jeff, Ari, Clicky and J. all grew up in the same gritty neighborhood of Seattle. Living on the mean streets of Laurelhurst, the boys were constantly getting in fights and being sent to juvie. As a means to escape the life, they turned to music. Forming in Seattle in 1990, they quickly rose to fame. But in those days there were few outlets for music, so the boys soon found themselves living in Hollywood. There they quickly became the toast of the town, even becoming the house band at the Whiskey. With the release of their single, "Ho Down", they became stars. Ho down pioneered the blending of country and hip hop, and was quickly becoming a hit on college radio staions in the summer of '92. But a new sound was emanating from their old home town, and like so many other bands of the era, they became drowned in the flood. The band went on hiatus durring the grunge explosion to explore a new musical direction. In the interim, Jeff dated numerous supermodels, Ari dabbled in acting (you might have seen him on Mia mi Vice), Clicky checked in and out of rehab centers up and down the west coast, and J. did a brief stint in Folsom prison (a book of his poetry from that era is slated for publication early next year).Burned out and washed up by 1996, the band seperately returned to Seattle. In 1998 they reformed for a benfit concert and have been together since. a |
