Artist description New York City based singer-songwriter Olivia Cornell plays her own original style of soulful hard-folkin, rough grown rock. Her compelling songs and lyrics show a respect for craft rarely seen in today’s young artists. Originally from Brunswick, Maine, Olivia studied opera before picking up guitar. She received her BFA in Music Compisition from SUNY Purchase (with honors) in 1991. Since then, Olivia has played solo and with her band in New York City, gaining steady praise from critics (like Richard Gehr) and fans as well. Olivia’s self-produced CD, YOUNG SOUL CITY, delivers11 poignant & personal songs that reflect her sincere and pure devotion to music.
